Parish Property Tax Rendition Filings
Because taxes affect the bottom line of all businesses, it is crucial that businesses avoid paying more than is required. Our experience and proven track record make us the right choice to guide taxpayers through the maze of rules and regulations that are unique to Louisiana. Although Louisiana has “uniform assessments” throughout the state, each assessor has their own approach to valuating real and personal property tax values. The importance of understanding the methods of individual assessors cannot be overstated.
Our experience with the assessment process in all 64 parishes puts us in the unique position of assuring the lowest and fairest assessments for our clients by:
- Working closely with clients to obtain the proper information needed to produce accurate and complete tax returns.
- Timely preparation of annual ad valorem tax renditions. Each tax return will be reviewed personally with the local parish tax assessor’s office to ensure that no unexpected issues occur.
- Following up and finalizing assessments to negate the necessity of filing costly protests, as well as providing complete listings and copies of all ad valorem tax assessments between real and personal property for advanced budgeting.
- Preparation and review of tax bills to ensure that there are no errors and miscalculations before bills are paid in order to avoid time consuming reissuance through the Louisiana Tax Commission.
- Delivery by hand of tax bills to the local sheriff’s office, thus certifying timely payments to avoid late fees and interest.
- Reviewing, organizing, and compiling certified property tax bill receipts and forwarding these to the client.
